Star & Garter is saved!

We’re almost numb to the closure of our favourite venues nowadays.

Sadly, pubs and performance spaces shut down every month, but when it was announced that Star & Garter was hanging by a thread, panic spread across the city.

Hundreds of local bands have cut their teeth at the iconic indie venue in its 200-year-history, and the prospect of losing the listed building filled Manchester music fans with dread.

Mercifully, The Mayfield Development Partnership stepped in to purchase the venue in December, meaning the legendary pub will continue to welcome budding bands for the next decade at least.
