Alice Merton is a German-Canadian-English singer and songwriter.
Her most played track on Spotify ‘No Roots’ exemplifies her transient upbringing across three countries and it’s this immersion in different cultures that have influenced Merton’s worldly progressive pop.
She learnt classical piano and singing as a child, then moved on to guitar in her teenage years and latterly studied at Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts.
Last year her groove-heavy track ‘Hit The Ground Running’ landed her an EBBA Award, and her 2019 album ‘Mint’ is laced with similar disco vibes.
