Given our city’s habit of spending much of its time stood beneath cold showers, Manchester might not appear the perfect place to host an outdoor festival. Yet Parklife has proven itself to be like an expandable water toy; the wetter it gets, the more it keeps growing. Sodden turf and liquid brown hills are never a match for Parklife ticket-holders, and whilst crowds arrived at Heaton Park this June expecting another mudbath, 2018 actually ended up being one of the warmest, sunshine-bathed weekends yet. Thousands whipped out their sunnies to see homegrown superstar Liam Gallagher, Skepta, N.E.R.D, Bonobo and A$AP Rocky as Manchester’s staple festival enjoyed another awesome year.
